Dhélia Cormier (née Robichaud)

(1912-2009)

Dhelia Cormier, 97, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 at her residence.

 

Born in Acadieville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fabien and the late Elise (née: Babineau) Robichaud. She was a former member of Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary "Council 6468 Parkton", a 53 year member of the C.W.L. (Lakeburn) and a parishioner of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Roman Catholic Church.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Surette of Dieppe; two sons, Jean (late Patricia) Surette and Raymond (Lorraine ) Surette, both of Toronto, ON; three step-daughters, Cecile Williams and Ella Mae Thibodeau, both of Moncton and Janet (Peter) Asmus of Calgary, AB; four step-sons, Fernand Cormier, Jean-Paul Cormier and Laurie (Thérèse) Cormier, all three of Moncton and Lionel Cormier of Grand-Barachois; four sisters, Anita (Earl) Arsenault of Halifax, NS, Alice Doiron of Saint John, Yvonne (Jimmy) Thompson and Anna Robichaud, both of Toronto, ON; two brothers, Leo Robichaud and Eloi (Margaret) Robichaud, both of Saint John; 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her 1st husband, Reginald Surette in 1975; her 2nd husband, Emile Cormier in 1996; two sisters, Elisa and Alma; and also by one brother, Gerard.

 

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe NB, (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 10 am until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 at 11 am. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
