Laurie
Vautour, of Dieppe, passed away at The Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton
on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Acadieville, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eugenie (Bordage)
Vautour.
He was a retired mechanic and was employed with Continental Can. Toronto from
1952 until 1967. He was a longshoreman in Saint John, NB from 1975 until 1995.
Laurie attended St. Therese and St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Churches and was a
member of the Golden Age Club in Dieppe.
Laurie will be fondly remembered by his wife Beatrice (Hunt) Vautour; daughters
Bernice (Dennis) Wall of Upper Coverdale, Debbie (Allan) Doucet of Moncton, and
Phyllis Marzi (Danny Clements) of Cambridge, ON; sons Gerry Vautour of Riverview
and Larry (Cathy) Vautour of Saint John; six sisters; and seven brothers; eight
grandchildren; and 2 great grandsons; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, Laurie was predeceased by his son Phillip in 1981 and two
brothers.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Sunday July 4, 2010
from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church on Monday,
July 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will
be in Aldouane Cemetery, Richibucto, NB. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Elevator Fund at St. Bernard's Roman
Catholic Church or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by
Laurie's family.
