Amanda Doucet (née Barrieau)

(1935-2004)

The death of Amanda M. Doucet, loving wife of Alderic Doucet of Fredericton, occurred on June 30, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

 

Born in Acadieville, Amanda was a daughter of the late Arthur and Henriette Barrieau. Mrs. Doucet enjoyed helping others and looking after children. Amanda is survived by her husband; two daughters, Diane Doucet-Saad (Jamie) of New Maryland and Alice Doucet (Leigh Dingley) of Fredericton; three grandchildren, Brian, Celina and Jason; three brothers, Marcel Barrieau (Alice) of Acadieville, Jean Daigle (Juliette) of Acadieville, and Lionel Daigle of Colette; three sisters, Eva Thebeau (Adelard) of Acadieville, Lea McGraw (Ronald) of Moncton, Marie Richard (Hector) of Acadieville and Rosalie Doucet (Adelard) of Fredericton. Besides her parents Arthur and Henriette Barrieau, Amanda Doucet is predeceased by two brothers, Fidel Daigle and Gerard Daigle; three sisters, Amanda Barrieau, Bertha Barrieau and Emma Daigle.

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne des Pays Bras (paroisse), 655 Priestman Street, on Friday, July 2nd, 2004 at 2 PM with Father Brian Emery as the Celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Marcel Barrieau, Louis Barrieau, Brian Doucet, Jean-Guy McGraw, Jamie Saad and Leigh Dingley. Interment will take place at St. Francis of Assissi, Lincoln, NB. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
