Arthur Barrieau
(1942-2011)
The death of Arthur J. Barrieau occurred at the Saint John
Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Arthur was born in Saint John on
December 8, 1942; he was the son of Roland Tremblay and Marie
(Barrieau) Doiron.
Arthur loved his career driving bus for City Transit, where he spent 42 years
driving and meeting new people. The love of his life was his family, especially
his grandchildren who loved their “Pépère Barrieau”. He spent many late nights
watching hockey or any other sports he could find and on any given Saturday he
could be found at the race track.
Besides his mother Arthur is survived by his sons, Eddie (Pauline), Claude
(Rose-Marie), brothers, Jean (Andrea) Doiron, Roméo Doiron, Rémi (Anna) Doiron,
Bernard (Linda) Doiron, sisters, Maria (Elmo) Despres, Sylvie (Akira) Hiruma,
Gisèle (Rosaire) Doiron, Yolande (Andy) Deveau, Mona (Bertin) Doiron,
grandchildren, Céline, Lisette, Daniel, Gabrielle and several aunts, cousins,
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Onésime Doiron and Gloria
Doiron and the husband of his
mother Alphonse Doiron. He was raised in Acadieville by his grand parents
the late Felix and Eleonore (Vautour) Barrieau.
Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West
(634-1701) with visiting on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass of
Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the
Assumption Church. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by
his family.
