Raymond Barrieau

(1932-2009)

    Raymond Barrieau Mr. Raymond Barrieau, 76, of Ray Barrieau Lane Miramichi, NB., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Dr. George L Dumont Hospital Moncton, NB. Born in Saint John, NB., the son of the Isaac & Lea (Richard) Barrieau. He loved long walks in the woods and sitting in the front window watching the birds and squirrels. His friendly and pleasant smile will be sadly missed by many. Raymond has lived in Acadieville for many years.
He is survived by his stepmother Beatrice (Sam) Anderson, Daughters; Joanne Barrieau of Miramichi, Judy Gallant (Joe) of Miramichi, Son; John Barrieau (Jeannie Stewart) of Nanaimo, B.C., grandchildren; Julia Barrieau, Lindsey & Brett Gallant, Jolene (Darren Doucette), Jacob, Emily, Molly and Eve. Sisters; Evelyn (Harold) Woods of Moncton, Fernande (France) Arseneau of Rogersville, Rita Asmussan of Toronto, Irene (Shirley) Hogan of Quarryville, Eva Martin of Toronto, Stella Jardine of Loggieville, Doreen (Bert) Matchett of Saint John, Shirley (Ron) Martin of Moncton. Brothers; Arthur Poirier of Toronto, Eddie Barrieau and Jimmy Barrieau both of Vancouver B.C., his cat Mary and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Wallace) Barrieau, and nephew Michael Woods. Mr. Raymond Barrieau is resting at Maher's Funeral Home Miramichi on Thursday Jan 15th from 2-4 & 6-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated on Friday at 11am from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church with Fr Jim McQuade officiating. Fr. Leon Creamer was in attendance. Active Pallbearers were Michael McKenzie, Frank McKenzie, Joe Donaher, Harold Donaher, Billy Gaston, Richard Landry. Honorary pallbearers were Rudolph (Rudy) Rousselle, Raymond Ronan, Vince Holland, John Woods, Paul McMahon and Frank Donaher. 1st Reading and intercessions were given by Patsy Russell 2nd reading by Irene Hogan, organist/soloist by Jacqueline Allain.
