The death of Gerard Joseph Doiron
loving husband of Bella (Arseneau) Doiron of Rogersville, NB, occurred at the
Miramichi Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in
Acadieville, NB, Gerard was the son of the late Benjamin and Odelie (Richard)
Doiron.
Gerard was a
Technician with R.C.A.F. for 3 years and was with the Department of Natural
Resources during his working years and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br #
38, Rogersville, NB. Gerard was also known for his love of music, capable of
playing many instruments and was also recognized for his beautiful singing voice.
He also played with the Band “Les Cinq Dioron”.
Gerard is
survived by two stepdaughters: Claudette Richard of Rogersville, NB and Nancy
Richard (Paul) of Courtice, ON; four stepsons: Louis Richard (Joanne), Lawrence
Richard (Pauline) and Eric Richard (Betty) all of Arden, ON and Donald Richard
of Oshawa, ON; one sister: Claudette Doiron (Jean) of Gatineau, QC; one brother:
Patrick Doiron (Annette) of Richibucto, NB; 10 step grandchildren, several great
grandchildren and he was looking forward to the birth of another step great
grandchild which is due in May and several nieces and nephews. He will also be
missed by his Little Dog Friend “Bailey”. Predeceased by his first wife Teresa;
three sisters: Evangeline, Lucille, Jeanette and an infant sister; three
brothers: Alsime, Eddie and Freddie.
Visitation will be
held at Saint Francois de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM with
Father Guy LeGendre. Burial will take place in Roman Catholic Cemetery,
Rogersville, NB., later in the spring.
In Gerard’s
memory a donation may be made to the NB heart & Stroke Foundation or a memorial
of ones choice.
