Lionel Bordage

(1922-2004)

The death of Lionel Albeni Bordage, loving husband of 54 years to Madeline I. (Adams) Bordage, occurred on Thursday September 30, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. 

Born in Acadieville, NB in 1922, he was the son of the late Frederic and Madeleine (Guimond) Bordage. Lionel worked for McAvity’s for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 6595, Canadian Army Reserve Corps of Engineers, International Aerospace and Machinist Union Local 835. Lionel will be remembered as an avid bowler and hockey fan.

Besides his loving wife Madeline, he is survived by one son Lionel Douglas (Marlene); three daughters Linda Kaizer (Charles), Donna and Pamela all of Saint John; four grandchildren Danielle, Tony, Brian and Adam; brothers Arthur (Mary), Emile (Theresa) and Adrice (Juliette) of Saint John; Alban (Alma), Louis (Rita) sister Edith Cormier of Acadieville, NB and sister Sr. Corinne Bordage (CND) of St. Louis de Kent, NB; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers infants Adrice and Eric, Francois, Elzear, Luc, Edouard and Alfred, and sister Sr. Emilienne (CND). 

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, with visitations on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church on Monday October 4, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
